If the remote works from inside the garage but not from the outside then most likely the antenna wire on the garage door opener itself may be damaged broken or not in visible range.
Garage door won t open from outside with remote.
Check to be sure the antenna is attached and if it is not hanging down from the unit move the antenna so it can catch the beam being sent by the remote.
Press the button as you observe a small blinking red light on the box where the chain enters and exits.
Check the battery in your remote operator by walking into the garage holding it in your hand.
If that doesn t work and you still have a nonworking remote you may want to have a professional examine it.
You can also try pushing the garage door button on the wall.
If the door opens the problem is likely a worn out battery in your remote.
Quickly test the quality of your opener s wiring by following these steps.
I have replaced the battery on reprogrammed the remotes with no luck.
Try installing a new battery and attempt to open the door again with the remote.
