My garage door is shifting to one side when open.

The span from rail to rail is about 1 2 3 4 off but i guess that should be okay.
It is possible that the vertical track down the side has gone out of alignment and shifted due to a slightly loose lag screw.

Push the door back to adjust the door and get the center aligned again.

The door runs are housed in a garage door track one on each side of the garage door.
It s not uncommon for these tracks to wind up out of alignment.
The overhead track should be the same distance away from the door as the wall.
The rollers that your door runs on are guided by two tracks which run from floor to ceiling and continue horizontally parallel to the garage ceiling.

If you ve had your door for a while or are in and out of it a lot it can easily end up out of alignment.
Adjust the spring tension on each side of the door until it does.
You will notice that there is one garage door track on each side of the doorway.
The overhead portion of the garage door track only has one adjustment point.
Maybe someone bumped into it recently.
The cable is attached to the door and runs to an s hook that attaches to the track support.
Check that it is straight.
With the door propped open take the s hook out of the support and tighten or loosen the cable as needed.
Adjust the brackets on both sides of the door until you have a consistent garage door track margins.
