If you find that your garage door is reversing before even hitting the floor then it could be possible that there is a problem with the close force setting.
Garage door reverses when going down.
If the door reverses part way down and you are sure there is no obstruction or binding increase the closing force a small amount and try it again.
In cases like this your travel down setting simply needs to be adjusted to the new distance.
Try to lower the door.
Turn the down adjustment one full turn counterclockwise.
Your limit switch needs to be adjusted.
When that happens the distance your garage door needs to travel may change.
The photo eyes send an infrared beam across the bottom of your garage door opening if that beam is broken the door will reverse.
If the door closes and reverses it is traveling too far and you should decrease the travel.
If the garage door only travels down an inch or so before reversing something is probably blocking the beam between the two safety sensors at the bottom of the rails or the sensors aren t aligned.
For most doors a complete rotation of the screw allows the door to advance 2 inches.
Find local garage door repair.
Continue to turn the down.
You push the button to close the garage door.
This is almost always the result of a dirty or obstructed safety feature.
Watch our safety sensor troubleshoot video to determine whether the sensors work.
Photo eyes or safety sensors are mounted to the track on either side of the garage door about 6 inches up from the ground.
Replace them if they re broken.
